The Gift of Authenticity and the Power of Charisma

Each of us hopes to be an authentic person. Few of us awake thinking, "I'll be a big phony today!" However, most of us have had moments when we've compromised our genuine identity in order to 'fit in' or 'be right for the job' – we've left these times feeling uncomfortable and determined to always be our authentic self. But personal authenticity isn't as easy as the intention to be genuine, credible, and up- front.

In his career as a Hollywood casting professional, Sam Christensen often found himself giving this advice: "just be yourself". Realizing this recommendation never seemed to deliver the help he intended, Sam began to explore why this universally offered advice is not contributive.

Eventually, he 'cracked the code'! For the last twenty-five years, as an 'authenticity authority', Sam has helped all sorts of professionals, from Hollywood stars to leaders of corporate America, to fully actualize the authenticity they want to demonstrate in their lives.

On October 23, Sam will be sharing what he's learned and practiced with members of FWA. He's especially excited about this opportunity because he's observed, as many have, that workplace authenticity for women has added challenges created by cultural norms and professional inequities.

A great event to boost your success and become a more effective, authentic leader – the FWA Way!

Sam Christensen was educated in classical directing and Theatre Arts at University of Colorado at Boulder. After work on Broadway, he moved on to casting work in Hollywood. A rewarding highlight was finding the actors for eight and a half seasons of America’s all-time favorite television comedy, M*A*S*H and, also, casting the multi-award winning docudrama Guyana Tragedy: the story of Jim Jones. After working with stars from Alan Alda to Angela Lansbury and Rita Wilson to Jean-claude van Damme and casting the final episode of M*A*S*H which he considered the best possible casting assignment, Sam moved on to the development of the personal authenticity system that has come to be known as The Sam Christensen Process.

Today he employs his ‘personal authenticity’ system in coaching movie stars, political candidates, CEO’s, corporate team leaders, authors, news anchors, entrepreneurs, journalists, community leaders. Countless ordinary men and women also credit his innovative system with their increased self-confidence and personal ease. Thousands of people have sought out the workshops of the groundbreaking process he created. As an 'authenticity authority', Sam keynotes for organizations, large and small. He and his trainers offer workshops at Sam Christensen Studios in Hollywood and travel nationwide as well.
