Advisory Board Membership: Learn What It Takes to Get There

This will be the first of a series of Advisory Board, designed to match qualified FWA members
with entrepreneurs and startups looking for advisory board members.

In this first event, attendees will obtain firsthand knowledge of how an advisory board functions and what it takes to get on one from Alicia Syrett, an angel investor who has served on many advisory boards.

Here are the 5 powerful things you’ll learn:

  • Board vs. Advisory Board roles
  • Board structures
  • Board responsibilities and ways to add value
  • Equity amounts, vesting, and contract timing
  • Suggested resources

This event will be followed by a request for interested FWA members (and nonmembers) to submit applications to be a part of the meetup-style events where startups and entrepreneurs are invited to find advisory board members.

Alicia SyrettAlicia Syrett is the Founder and CEO of Pantegrion Capital, an angel investment vehicle focused on seed and early stage investments. She is a recurring panelist on CNBC’s Power Pitch and MSNBC’s Your Business. She is a member of the Women’s Forum of NY, Women Corporate Directors, and several company and advisory boards. She currently serves on the Board of the NY Tech Alliance and has served on the Board of Directors of New York Angels and as a Managing Director of Golden Seeds.
